March 14, 2013 Apple has updated Safari (6.0.3) which blocks start of Java Web Start. Please double click on the downloaded JNLP file to start EVO.
January 15, 2013 To register and manage your communities you must go to http://research.seevogh.com and click on the Start link.
December 1, 2012 All Koala client jars were resigned with new certificate. Next time when you will download Koala client it should be downloaded from scratch and it will take longer to start Koala than usual. This is one time event - as long as all jars will be updated, next time when you will start Koala you will have usual startup time.
Oct 1 EVO Transition to SeeVogh, a commercial service. Starting in January 2013 the current EVO service will transition to a commercial service (managed by Evogh, Inc.) named the SeeVogh Research Network. You can already try it and know more about the EVO replacement at http://research.seevogh.com SeeVogh R.N. is 100% compatible with EVO, so you can already follow your meeting with it.
Aug 16 If you are using macos 10.8 and have a problem with Phoenix Duet or Plantronics, you need to install latest Java SE (7u7 or higher) from oracle.com as described here and problem will be fixed.
Aug 8 To all of the Janet community using EVO: Please note that the EVO phone bridge number for the UK will be changing. The new EVO bridge number is 0131 474 4520 (00 44 131 474 4520 outside the UK). These numbers are running in parallel immediately. The date for the existing EVO phone bridge to be turned off is Friday 2nd November. The old bridge number is +44 161 306 6802 which you should remove from your listings.
Jul 13 Koala was updated to add new features. If you are using old saved koala.jnlp on your machine to start Koala and see the error message "Sorry. There is something wrong with the Auto Authentication key! Please contact the support." please go to evo.caltech.edu and start Koala using "Start EVO" button.
Jun 13 Java 1.7 was updated recently which might affect EVO start. If you will get error message "Unable to start application" when you will try to start EVO, please make sure that you clean up the java web cache as explained here. This will help to clean up old java images and allow you to start EVO.
Jan 13: EVO usage has continued to expand in 2011 Last year the annual growth rate of the LHC usage of EVO was 30 to 100% depending on which LHC experiment. 38,574 EVO meetings in the LHC experiments' EVO Communities took place in 2011, plus many more LHC meetings in the Universe and other Communities. Sep 21: Koala version was updated New features and bugfixes:
- Mac OS X 10.4 support was moved to separate area as obsoleted version Start Koala for Mac OS X 10.4
- DeskShare works for Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion)
- SIP client works again, dialpad opening when call is active
- new Vievo for Mac / Linux / Win
- Bug fix to work with SUN Java 1.7.0
Jun 1: EVOPlayer was updated and moved to separate project area. Two new features were added:
- Record editing
- Record conversion from EVO proprietory format to general formats
Documentation was updated accordingly
May 26: New Certificate for Koala The Koala application has been signed with a new certificate to run to the end of 2012. Information on the certificate can be found here. If you encounter problems, please clear your Java Web Start cache.

Dec 5: Release of Koala 1.5.5, fix some Audio problem, Mac OS 64 bits compatible and more:
- Progress bar and better control for searching meetings
- Reconnect to alternative panda is the login information doesn't come back
- Request meeting icon one at a time to avoid flooding the panda with too much requests
- MacOS fix for the 64bits architecture and compatibility with the latest Java update (see below)
- Better Audio mixing to SIP/H.323 client
- Fix Audio buzz issue on MacOS for USB audio devices.
- Language bug fixed
- Bug when not able to load the background image fixed
- Update JNLP to include the fix for MacOS 64bits
- A new 23 ports BNL EVO phone bridge has been installed.

Mar 12: Release of Koala 1.3.0 and New ViEVO which include many bug fixes and enhancements. Among the enhancements:
- H.264 codec for Windows, MacOS (decoding only on Linux for now)
- Detach video on Windows with right click to detach any video and click on "f" for full screen and "Esc" to return to normal mode
- Selection of higher video resolutions
  H.323:
- New video transcoder capable of getting input from any codec, any size
- New H.323 EVO agent capable of calling H.323 end-points up to 4CIF/H.263
- H.323 call works now under NAT/PNAT environment
  Koala:
- Automatic "moderator" when no moderator is present in the meeting
- New video mode called "Limited Video" will limit the remote video received to 300kbps
- Automatic adaptation of video bandwidth received or sent in case of packet loss
Feb 2nd: Release of new EVO Telephone Bridge service for the UK. It is now possible to phone into an EVO meeting using the UK national rate number: 0161 306 6802. Up to eight telephone users can simultaneously bridge to EVO meetings using this number. Details on using this bridge can be found here.
November 28th: Release of New ViEVO for Mac using OpenGL. Now Mac users can have the same flexibility and performance as Windows users.
Release of EVO Player in BETA on November 18th. It alows you to playback any EVO recording without starting EVO. Please do not start if Koala is running, in such case it may not start correctly. We are waiting your feedback.
Upgrade of main EVO servers has been done the 4th of October. Due to change of date on all the files the Java Web Start will download all the packages. Sorry for the inconveniences. The aim of this upgrade is to always improve our world wide EVO Collaboration Network service.
LHC startup was in EVO. The LHC first beam (from CERN, in Geneva, Switzerland) event was broadcasted in EVO the 10th of September. Click HERE for additional information.

Please use SeeVogh Research Network from now. You must register and subscribe to communities directly from SRN application.

In January 2013 the previous EVO service has been switched to a commercial service (managed by Evogh, Inc.) named the SeeVogh Research Network. You must subscibe to a community that is a SeeVogh Research Network member to be able to use the service.
